The Training provides the involvement of 4 participants for each partner, for a total amount of 20 young persons (at least 22 years old) with experience in the field of social inclusion and digital technologies. Among these, at least one is meant to show fewer opportunities in terms of economic and geographic disadvantages, with the following requirements:
The Training (C1) – through non-formal education and peer learning methodologies – is aimed at provide the youth workers with a general frame about the topic of discrimination: on the one side, it will be focused on the identification of the main discriminatory practices both online (i.g. hate speeches and cyberbullying) and not, debunking some false “dreams” based on ethical prejudices.
On the other side, another important focus is about the acceptance and the value of diversity, examining at what extent may be dangerous the spread of stereotypes among the young persons.
In this section of the Training, it will be very important the contribution of each partner in sharing the good practice it applies in the origin country to face discrimination through the use of ICTs.
From this point of view, the proposal is meant to increase participants’ Critical Thinking and their Social and Civic competences, helping the participants to understand and face the diversity.
The deliverable we want to fulfill with this section is the creation of a Vademecum about “How to avoid discriminatory practices”.
The second section of the Training (C1) will go deeper in ICTs, having a focus on the use of new technologies and communication tools used in order to achieve the social inclusion (of migrants).
Through the learning-by-doing and peer learning methodologies, the participants will implement concrete activities and outputs.
Mainly, the participants and partners will be stimulated in the implementation of a TOOLKIT, containing tools based on non-formal education in order to promote intercultural dialogue in schools and between the young persons. The main outputs of this deliverable are:
The participatory video is based on the methodology of self-narration and his strength is based on its capacity to reduce the block that usually the camera creates between the interviewee and the audience. Moreover, the self-narration methodology allows the sharing and the (self-awareness): the workshop to create the participatory video foresees the participation of each participant to the ideation and production of the video, as well as the choice of the topic (in the area of interculturality). During this workshop, it is foreseen the participation of some migrants from our associated partner.
In order to promote the intercultural dialogue in the schools and youth. Mainly we foresee the aid of an expert in gamification in order to create an output that is based on the use of the game to foster the social inclusion
In the third section of the Training (C1), the participants will be led in the creation of an awareness campaign against the ethnic and social discrimination, in order to define different strategies and to set the concrete material to spread during the dissemination phase of the project.
An important Output in this section is to design a picture-video contest to be launched in the dissemination phase.
After providing the Youth workers with the ICTs tools to fight discrimination (through the Training), the Youth workers will be asked to disseminate the results in the Dissemination phase, launching the awareness campaign and the toolkit in the schools and youth centers of their countries.
ICT For Social Inclusion is focused on spreading video-making methodologies (such as participatory video, lip dub, etc) and ICT seen as direct and strong tools of self-narration and storytelling about different cultures.
